New EZBenefits plan helps small businesses offer competitive benefits and access HR support tools

Equitable launches affordable benefits plan for small businesses in Canada

In an article by Benefits and Pension Monitor, produced in partnership with Equitable, the challenges faced by small businesses in attracting and retaining top talent are highlighted.

According to the most recent Statistics Canada survey, small businesses employ over 10 million Canadians. Offering competitive health benefits is becoming essential for smaller companies to compete with larger organizations.

“A health benefits plan is becoming a must-have for smaller companies that want to compete for the best people,” says Marc Avaria, executive vice president of Group Insurance at Equitable.

To address this, Equitable introduced Equitable EZBenefits, a solution specifically designed for businesses with 2 to 25 employees, offering affordability, sustainability, and ease of management.

“We created EZBenefits to provide a benefits solution that’s affordable and easy,” says Avaria. “Easy to understand, easy to implement and administer, and easy to use.”

EZBenefits offers a range of coverage, including Life, Health, and Dental, with optional Long-Term Disability (LTD) and a Health Care Spending Account (HCSA).

Additionally, employees gain access to Virtual Healthcare from Dialogue and an Employee and Family Assistance Program from Homewood Health.

The solution also provides HR support through a partnership with HRdownloads, giving small businesses access to thousands of HR documents, templates, and expert advice.

“We wanted to help take the heavy lifting out of common human resources tasks,” says Don Bisch, director of Group Marketing at Equitable.

Small business owners can learn more about EZBenefits by visiting Equitable’s website or consulting with an independent group benefits advisor.
