Revamped offering aims to help recruitment efforts
CAAT Pension Plan has officially launched its revamped recruitment toolkit. Recognizing the positive impact of pensions on workplace wellbeing, productivity, and talent retention, the new recruitment toolkit offers ready-to-use resources and promotional materials for Canadian employers to use in their online talent attraction strategies.
Studies have found a preference for pensions among workers, with 69 percent of employees favoring a pension over a pay raise. Furthermore, 84 percent consider an employer-sponsored retirement plan a crucial benefit, and 79 percent express a likelihood of changing jobs for a better pension.
CAAT encourages employers to highlight the inclusion of its award-winning defined benefit (DB) plan in their compensation packages — and that’s exactly what CAAT’s recruitment toolkit is for.
“We designed the recruitment toolkit to be an easy-to-use solution to help our participating employers trumpet the fact that they offer a valuable defined pension from CAAT. We developed it based on feedback from our partners to help give them a competitive advantage in the marathon for talent,” says Russell Evans, vice president communications of CAAT Pension Plan.
The marathon for talent, affecting 90 percent of employers, has only aggravated the challenges in attracting and retaining top talent in Canada.
The toolkit gives employers access to tools such as a branding badge for recruitment materials, a messaging option for career pages, and FAQs to address common candidate queries about the DB pension plan.
“We are proud to offer a [DB] pension to our employees. The recruitment toolkit has been a great resource for showcasing the pension in our efforts to attract top talent,” says Diane McCutcheon, vice president, human resources at Algonquin College.
“We're thrilled to see employers across Canada leveraging it, and proudly posting their 'Lifetime Retirement Pension' badge on their websites,” adds Evans.
CAAT Pension Plan is one of Canada's fastest growing DB pension plans.
