New offering provides competitive health benefits plus a few extras
Equitable has introduced a benefits solution tailored specifically for small businesses with 2 to 25 employees.
The new offering called Equitable EZBenefits was designed to provide competitive benefits in a cost-effective manner, according to Marc Avaria, executive vice president, group insurance.
“A health benefits plan is becoming a must-have for smaller companies that want to compete for the best people,” said Avaria. “The problem is, they’re competing with larger organizations with big budgets and more resources. They need a benefits solution that’s affordable, sustainable and easy to manage.”
EZBenefits offers various plan designs that include a mix of life, health, and dental coverage, with the possibility of adding long-term disability (LTD) coverage or a health care spending account (HCSA).
It also includes supplementary health and wellness services at no extra cost, allowing employees to have access to virtual healthcare from Dialogue and an employee and family assistance program provided by Homewood Health.
“We created EZBenefits to provide a benefits solution that’s affordable and easy,” said Avaria. “Easy to understand, easy to implement and administer, and easy to use.”

Extra HR advice and support for small businesses
To provide further support to small businesses, EZBenefits also incorporates built-in HR support tools and services through Equitable’s partnership with HRdownloads.
These additional tools and services provide employers with access to a human resource information system, over 3,000 HR documents and templates, a workplace diversity and inclusion online training course, and a free advice call with an HR expert.
We wanted to help take the heavy lifting out of common human resources tasks and provide small businesses with extra HR advice and support,” said Don Bisch, director, group marketing at Equitable. “That’s why we embedded HR client support and health and wellness services in each plan design.”
