Scotiabank quickly addresses and resolves a glitch delaying payday deposits, assuring fee reimbursements
Bank of Nova Scotia announced it has resolved an issue that caused some account holders not to receive their pay and other deposits on Friday.
Financial Post reported on the situation, highlighting customer complaints on social media. The issue occurred on a payday near the end of the month when many bills are due.
In a statement, the bank expressed being “deeply sorry for the inconvenience” and sincerely appreciated the patience of clients as it worked to resolve the problem.
An early afternoon update indicated customers should start to see their direct deposits and cheque deposits posted to their accounts.
Scotiabank assured that any fees incurred due to the issue would be reimbursed. This incident follows a similar issue last year with Toronto-Dominion Bank Group, where customers did not receive direct deposits on a Friday.
